Guidelines for Locally Awarded Verified Credits (Word) - These guidelines describe the criteria and requirements for using state-developed performance tasks scored locally using state-developed rubrics, in conjunction with other local assessments, for awarding locally awarded verified credits in history and social science.
HSS State Developed Common Rubric-Early Secondary (2020) (Word) - This rubric is to be used as written when scoring responses to state-developed performance tasks in World Geography, World History to 1500 A.D. (World History I), and World History: 1500 A.D. to the Present (World History II).
Developing Locally Awarded Verified Credit Plans for History and Social Science (PPT) – These slides from the November 9, 2021, webinar describe the process for developing the Locally Awarded Verified Credit (LAVC) Plan for History and Social Science. The LAVC Plan for History and Social Science is required for school divisions using state-developed performance tasks, in conjunction with local assessments, to confer LAVC. Note that this option is only available for Virginia and United States History during the 2021-2022 school year.
