Parent Resource Center (PRC)
2024-2025 Subgrant Funding for Parent Resource Center (PRC)
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) recognizes the impact that a well-established special education PRC can have on ensuring that parents are informed of their rights and responsibilities related to the special education processes outlined in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA 2004) and the Regulations Governing Special Education Programs for Children with Disabilities in Virginia and, as such, have a direct impact on increasing outcomes for students with disabilities.
Therefore, VDOE has set aside funds to assist PRCs in continuing to staff the center and/or developing and implementing activities/products centered on students and families with disabilities. These subgrant award funds are available only by application to the VDOE. Refer to each application for amounts and requirements. These funds are extremely limited. As such, they are available on a first-come, first-served basis through March 30, 2025, or when all subgrant funds have been exhausted.
