Virginia Community School Framework (VCSF)
The Virginia Community School Framework (VCSF) seeks to remove nonacademic barriers to learning as a means to enhance student academic success. Community schools vigorously pursue equity by creating opportunities, empowering communities, providing wrap-around services, and meeting students where they are, every day. Policies, practices, and supports allow for flexibility that put students first.
VDOE and the commonwealth’s public schools work in partnership to support and improve teaching and learning through a variety of programs and activities promoting the safety and well being of students within a positive learning environment. VDOE oversees a variety of programs that directly and indirectly support students in school and community settings.
