Annual Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals Conference June 25-June 27, 2017
Virginia's statewide conference for elementary and middle school principals is the Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals Annual Conference. This professional development opportunity is a collaborative effort between the Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals and the Virginia Department of Education to develop and enhance principal and assistant principal leadership skills, increase their understanding of current issues, and expand their knowledge base for success. The conference will be held June 25-27, 2017, at the Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront, 5700 Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23451. Principals, assistant principals, aspiring administrators, division superintendents, and central office personnel are cordially invited to attend.
The theme for this year's Conference is "Waves of Opportunity, Sails of Success…Public Education Matters." It explores the successes and the opportunities that affirm the importance of public education. The presentations, breakouts, and discussions will aid administrators in gaining comfort in understanding policy and guidance while offering strategies to implement within their buildings. School principals establish the framework and expectations that encompass state and local mandates aimed at increasing student achievement. This conference is intended to be a tool through which elementary and middle school administrators broaden their understanding of roles for which they are held accountable.
