Standards of Quality (SOQ) & Other Requirements Compliance Reporting
Certain provisions in the Code of Virginia, the Virginia Administrative Code, and the Appropriation Act require school divisions to annually report the status of compliance on a variety of requirements.
As a part of the annual report to the General Assembly on the condition and needs of public education in Virginia, the Board of Education is required to report the compliance of local school boards with the requirements of the Standards of Quality (SOQ). In addition to SOQ compliance, VDOE also collects data for several other certifications and reporting requirements, such as certification of compliance with teacher evaluation requirements, pre-Labor Day opening waivers, and conditions for specially funded initiatives. This information is not included in the Board's annual report..
School divisions use the Single Sign-On for Web-based Systems (SSWS) to collect the data.
