For Public Education Administrators
Survey on the use of seclusion and restraint in public and private schools – Deadline Aug. 25, 2014
The Virginia General Assembly is studying the use of seclusion and restraint by schools in the commonwealth. Virginia superintendents are encouraged to participate in an online survey to collect information to aid in a review of statewide policies and regulations related to seclusion and restraint in public and private elementary and secondary schools. See Superintendent's Memo 197-14. The survey deadline is August 25, 2014.
Weekly memoranda from the superintendent of public instruction are the means by which the Virginia Department of Education communicates official information to the commonwealth's school divisions. Superintendent's memoranda are posted on Fridays.
